The Price Of Their Toys

When people think about valentines, they usually picture roses, diamonds, boxes of chocolates and bouquets of flowers. For some, Valentine’s Day means a time to remind your loved ones how much you love them or a time to express your love to people who deserve it most. Because expressing love is a personal thing, giving a gift should be made personal, too.

Buy for Your Man and Not for Yourself

Think of a gift that he will love. Be it related to sports, his work, his car obsession, or his hobbies, what is important is that your gift be for your man and not for you and your man. For instance, treating him to dinner or buying him a perfume that you think is perfect for him might not be the greatest idea. Think of something that he will use and love using, or something that he wants but he cannot get for himself. For example, if your man loves to surf, then buy him a new surfing board. Or if he loves to play basketball, buy him a new basketball or a DVD collection of the best basketball games of all time, or other things that are associated with his hobbies, his favorite sport and the like. Doing so will emphasize how much his happiness matters to you.

What He Wants and What He Has to Have

Women often go for the things their partners need, but generally, men would prefer gifts that they want and don’t need. For instance, he would likely appreciate an iPod more than a new microwave. Although being thoughtful is good, your man will appreciate it more if he knows that your gift was well thought of or that you find time to notice the things that he loves doing.

For Men, It Is Not Just the Thought that Counts

Although a new basketball that he can use for practices is good, buying a much more special (and a little more expensive) gift such as a new Playstation 3 or Playstation Portable that he can share and show off to his friends is even better. Men love gifts that not only show how much you think of them, but also show how much you are willing to give them just to put a smile on their faces.

Don’t Be Boring

Some men would appreciate a letter for Valentine’s Day, especially when it comes from the women they love, but if they could only scream it to the world they’d tell everyone that they would much prefer a new handkerchief. In short, men rarely find it interesting to read love letters and would be happier to receive real gifts. So the next time you decide on buying a gift, you should actually think of buying, not making one.

The Perfect Gift for the Perfect Man

• Businessman— necktie, a branded pen, briefcase, laptop, organizer notebook, cell phone, deluxe perfume or bath products

• Athlete/Sports Fanatic— golf balls, basketball, gloves, goggles, pedometer, duffel bag, DVD sports collection

• Mountaineer/Outdoorsman— backpack, outdoor handy cooker, tent, inflatable bed, shades, cap

Whoever your guy is, take time to know him better and discover the person he really is. This is the most effective way to know what to buy as a gift. Valentine’s Day is a perfect time for you to make him feel special in every possible way, so you need a perfect gift to complete a perfect Valentines Day!
