You might be surprised to learn that it is easier to find gifts for him than to find gifts for her. That is because men do not go around agonizing about the gift given to them while the gift giver has a tendency to think, "Was it the right gift, did he like it?" and so on and so forth! So remember that nobody is a hundred percent correct all the time while choosing gifts for him, but you can have plenty of fun choosing the right gift for the right person, to be gifted on the right occasion.

First of all, here is one important tip: unless the person you are giving the gift to is quite particular in his taste, do not buy something extremely expensive for somebody who is not really close to you. But for the man who is very close to your heart, you can go with whatever your budget will allow. You can buy him a cheap gift, you can buy him an expensive gift—as long as you remember to buy him something, he is going to be glad that you thought of him.

Many things, from pens to computer bags to business card holders, can be personalized, which makes them extra special. Engraving the complete name looks kitschy and tacky; just discreet initials are a good choice. Not only is your man going to appreciate such a tasteful and classy gift, but he will also be pleased that you took the trouble to add personalization.

Pay attention to the kind of things your guy likes—do not buy him a 3-piece suit if he is a jeans and t-shirt sort of guy, or he is going to think that you are trying to change him over into your idea of success. Buy him something that makes him feel comfortable and not hedged in. If he thinks that you are trying to rope him into doing something he does not want to do, you will definitely have an unhappy man on your hands!

However, if you think that he has everything and you just want to buy him an “it’s the thought that counts” sort of gift, here are some gifts for him that are classic favorites.

A leather wallet with his initials—you can choose from long wallets to short wallets and two-fold wallets to three-fold wallets from the wide-ranging variety available online or at the nearest men’s accessory shop. Neckties are to be bought only when you know that your man will wear them. Watches and perfumes are also good options.
