Let’s face it. Relationships that are in transition stage can present challenges when choosing from among many men’s gifts. After all, you know him well enough to know his general likes and dislikes but not well enough to ask him what he particularly likes as a gift.
A Fine Balancing Act
This general state of affairs demands a fine balancing act. You must balance between giving him a gift that neither overestimates nor underestimates the value of the relationship with either an extravagant gift or an impersonal present, respectively! Indeed, it is as scary as it can be in relationship terms especially when you want to get off on the right foot. And the fact that ordinary gift-giving to close family and friends can be nerve-wracking alone only adds to the tension and the stress of choosing a gift for your new beau.
A Fine Criterion
Fortunately, you only need to remember a single all-important criterion when it comes to giving gifts to your man. You must give gifts that will provide honest information about your invisible qualities that speak of your value as a potential mate. Of course, you must have at least a general idea of what he needs and wants in a mate!
You might ask, why not just give him what he wants or what you think he wants that will make him happy? Let’s put it this way: By presenting yourself as a desirable mate, even without material men’s gifts, you are communicating that you can become a partner in virtually every aspect of the relationship, not just the material side.
Of course, other considerations like your budget, your level of comfort and your relationship stage will determine the types of gift you might give him. However, always keep the criterion in mind to emphasize your desirable invisible qualities as a mate and partner. These invisible qualities can be many things. Just to name a few, they could be similar interests, a nurturing side, open-mindedness, ability to maintain a home and even a belief in God.
A Fine Gift
Of course, you will find many men’s gifts that speak of many things to your new beau. However, as much as possible, try to send a single message to him with a single gift. In this way, you can lessen the chances for misunderstandings as to the double meanings behind your gift.
For example, if you want to send him a message that you are comfortable with his companionship and you are ready to move on to the next level of your relationship, a bottle of his favorite cologne will do. Or if you are comfortable with your new-found physical intimacy, then a pair of boxers in his favorite brand can suffice.
Again, a fine gift really depends on the message you are trying to send more than your intention of making him happy although that is also a point in favor of your chosen gift. Just make sure that you don’t overdo the presents!
Gifts for your man need not be as complicated as they seem. Just remember what you read here and you ought to be fine.
